Terms of Business

Our terms and conditions are pretty simple without the legal small print to make them easy to understand. The terms below are strict guidelines as to how we do business and also what we expect from our private clients and trade partners.


Before any works are undertaken we will provide written or digital estimates. In the main we usually stick to the estimated price however sometimes unforseen instances arise during the  procedure of works and or the works to be carried out alters from the original brief. We will always notify of any changes and inform the parties before we carry out the necessary works. Estimates are valid for 30 days.

Payment Terms

1a) All PRIVATE client invoices are to be payed on receipt of invoice ie the day the vehicle is released/collected unless agreed in writing by us.

1b) All TRADE clients WITHOUT an account with associated agreed credit limit payment terms are payable upon receipt of invoice/completion of works unless agreed in writing PRIOR to works carried out. IF an invoice remains unpaid we reserve the right to charge a late payment fee of 10% to cover our administration costs. All credit checks are performed through Experian. 

1c) All TRADE clients WITH an agreed credit limit account payment terms are to be payed within 30 working days unless agreed PRIOR to works carried out. Our maximum payment term for trade clients is 60 days. After this term a 5% bank interest fee will be charged.

1d) All private work where the job totals larger than £250.00 inc VAT requires an initial down payment/deposit up front – see website prices for details – to cover materials and also booked-out time.

Non Payment

In the case where the total outstanding fee is not received for works carried out to a vehicle and/or associated storage fees have not been received we reserve the right in line with current UK legislation, to withhold the vehicle or goods to the value of the total outstanding, in Lien until the total charges including any storage fees and admin fees are paid.

If you have not paid your invoice before or at the time of collecting your vehicle we reserve the right to withhold your vehicle until the outstanding payment is settled and cleared into our bank account. To a few this may seem harsh however you would not expect for service work or body repairs to be carried out to your vehicle and simply drive away without paying based upon a verbal promise of paying the bill at a later date. We will however arrange a Taxi home for you at cost to yourself. Please note our standard Storage Fee is £50 +VAT Per Day including weekends.

A weekly and monthly account statement will be produced updating the client of the current outstanding fees/charges.

Any subsequent court / legal / or admin fees incurred will also be charged to the client.

Cheshire Car Care standard Storage Fee is £50 +VAT Per Day including weekends.

If we enlist our solicitors where the total outstanding is above the current ‘winding up order’ threshold of £750.00 the initial recuperative cost to the client is £1300 +VAT which will be added to the outstanding invoice total, this includes admin fees. The initial recuperative cost is not limited to that cost if further legal charges are incurred.

Credit Limits

Trade suppliers can apply for credit limits of various amounts depending on their requirements. All suppliers will receive Experian credit checks before the requested amount is confirmed and agreed.

Accepted Payment Types

We accept all major credit and debit cards including AMEX American Express. We accept personal cheques upto the value of £300.00 and business cheques upto the value of £650.00 We also accept online payments and BACS transfers. AMEX transaction fee is charged at 2%.


Multi Car Discounts are available.  2 cars booked upon the same date qualify for a 10-15% discount dependant upon value and job type.  3+ cars booked upon the same date qualify for a 15-20% discount dependant upon value and job type. If a car/commission is cancelled then the discount will be revised and the outstanding cost difference will then be chargeable upon or post payment. 


2a) Bookings cancelled less than 24hrs before the date they are due to start are classed as a Late Cancellation. A 25% late cancellation surcharge of the total value of the job will be charged to cover loss of hours and materials purchased to conduct a commission. Depending upon the special circumstances (we will require physical proof of an event) this charge will be dropped at our discretion if the work is rescheduled within 30 days of the original appointment.

Amendments to this website

We will at times amend the site and our terms without any prior permissions. The website and our terms and conditions should always be checked and agreed by third parties.


Our insurance covers us upto 2 million pounds. This can be increased if the vehicle we are performing work on exceeds this value.
